The Molalla River School District has taken the following actions related to the former high school property, of which the School District leases a portion to the City of Molalla:
Board of Directors met in a special meeting on October 30, 2024 to address the City's concerns. A recording of the meeting is available on YouTube
Board took action by unanimously approving a motion directing the school administration to engage with officials from the City of Molalla on real estate at the meeting on 10/30/2024.
Molalla River School District Administration has designated Ron Stewart, Capital Project Manager as the contact for the City staff on this matter and notified the city of this designation on 10/31/2024.
Ron Stewart, Molalla River School District Capital Project Manager, contacted City Manager Huff with a list of possible meeting dates and times between Nov. 6-Nov. 20, 2024. The City has responded and several meetings are scheduled, with the first set for Nov. 6.
Molalla City staff have confirmed they will give a presentation to the School Board on November 21 regarding the Urban Growth Boundary and an Internship Program.
Molalla River Schools is looking forward to the presentation and engagement to resolve the property concerns raised by the City last week.

Background: The City of Molalla has expressed concerns and urgency related to the property at 412 S. Swiegle, the former Molalla High School. This property is owned by the Molalla River School District, which occupies the property for student programming, administration and maintenance facilities. The School District has leased a portion of the property to the City of Molalla, for over 25 years for $1 per year. The City uses the leased portion for a park and community library. The Molalla River School District wishes to resolve the property matter by proactively working to address the City's concerns.
